The Helsinki court of appeal reached a decision in the so called raw wood buying cartel case in May 2018. The Finnish government establishment, Metsähallitus, demanded compensations about the alleged damages suffered due to the competition infringement (over 100 million Euros).
The court of appeal dismissed the claims. The judgment was based heavily on the economic evidence provided to the court by the parties. The court of appeal concluded that the plaintiffs failed to provide convincing economic evidence about the alleged damages.
